Careers education is a valued and integral part of life at St Peter’s. Our aim is to help every student reach their potential, broaden their horizons, challenge stereotypes and explore their own aspirations. We provide impartial and confidential guidance that is tailored to individual needs, supporting students to make confident, informed choices about their next steps—whether that is employment, further education or training.
Our dedicated non‑teaching Careers Team offers clear, accessible information, advice and guidance to all students. The Careers Office, located in B4, is open throughout the school day and contains prospectuses, information guides and a wide range of careers resources. The team operates an open‑door approach and encourages students to drop in during break, lunch or after school whenever they need support.
Careers education is embedded across our curriculum. It features prominently within PSHE and is reinforced through links in individual subjects, ensuring every student receives consistent and meaningful careers learning.

Careers Programme and Policies
Our careers programme is comprehensive and aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks, the Ofsted framework, the CEC Compass tracking tool and guidance from the Department for Education.
We aim to prepare students for the world of work by helping them make well‑informed decisions about education, training, apprenticeships and employment. Through a wide range of experiences, students are encouraged to identify their strengths, explore industries that interest them and recognise the value of taking opportunities.
Feedback from students, parents, staff and employers shapes our programme. We maintain strong partnerships with post‑16 providers and professionals across a wide range of sectors to ensure students receive relevant and up‑to‑date guidance.
Our programme is reviewed annually, with ongoing evaluation throughout the year. Additional activities, events and visits are added as opportunities arise to further enrich students’ experiences.
